Americans have a wide selection of cars made by manufacturers worldwide. However, between car makers not thinking some cars will sell well and regulations, there are many vehicles that Americans simply can’t buy. This article explores the 15 coolest vehicles not sold in America, but we sure wish they were!
Ford Puma

With many car makers no longer making a significant lineup of sedans, we have begun to miss truly inexpensive but fun cars. Ford sells the Puma to other parts of the world, and this compact crossover drives like a sedan with sportier handling.
Although the base model’s 93-horsepower engine isn’t all that powerful, it just looks cool. That said, Ford CEO Jim Farley claims they might begin selling these in the United States someday.
Renault Megane RS

This small, powerful hatchback handles France’s tight streets and country highways well. It’s well-loaded with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine capable of 300 horsepower. Its interior is sporty and has a more expensive feel than most cars sold in the United States. These would probably sell well in America’s urban areas.
Toyota GR Yaris

Toyota stopped selling the base model Yaris in 2020. The Japanese market still enjoys the Toyota GR Yaris, which is cooler than the base model Yaris. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of 268 horsepower. It’s even available in manual and all-wheel drive. This just sounds cool, and we want one.
Honda E

Honda gave this electric hatchback a cool, futuristic, clean, and simple look. Its range isn’t all that impressive for the American driver, but at 137 miles with fast charging, most people who live in the city or have a short commute could make it work.
Although the interior doesn’t look like much initially, it has digital screens for almost everything, making it functional and cool-looking.
Volkswagen Scirocco R

Scirocco R is fast for what amounts to a basic production car. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds. The vehicle also features a dual-clutch automatic transmission to assist with faster acceleration and more control. Knowing that most people won’t use this vehicle to its full potential doesn’t stop anyone from dreaming.
Suzuki Jimny

America has plenty of off-road vehicles, but they are often expensive. For this reason, Americans would love the Suzuki Jimny. The Suzuki Samurai and Sidekick sold well in the United States, but Suzuki stopped selling them here in 2012. The Jimny is a fantastic small off-roading vehicle with capabilities that are similar to those of a Jeep.
Lexus LM

The Lexus LM is the perfect blend of luxury and space. It’s not quite a family vehicle but more for chauffeuring executives. Essentially, it’s a four-passenger van with two very comfortable seats in the back. Lexus has outdone itself by including a 48” screen with two different monitors in case passengers don’t want to watch the same thing.
Alpine A110

Some of the best sports cars in the world aren’t available in America. The most popular is probably the Alpine A110. This lightweight mid-engine coupe puts out up to 296 horsepower. Another benefit is that, of course, the vehicle looks pretty cool.
Mitsuoka Roadster

The Roadster blends old-school 1940s Jaguar looks with a reliable and efficient engine. Mitsuoka powers this vehicle with Mazda’s Skyactiv engine. While this doesn’t make the vehicle a sports car, the Roadster has the handling of the Mazda Miata, which is outstanding. Add good but simple information controls inside, and you have a car Americans will want.
Toyota Hilux

In 2022, the Hilux was the sixth-best-selling vehicle in the world—why? Because the Hilux is a really good truck known for its legendary durability. We have to admit that the Hilux looks cool, too.
Mitsubishi Triton

The Triton is a cool truck for drivers who don’t need all that V8 power. Mitsubishi puts a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder motor in the Triton, which can get up to 201 horsepower. It isn’t all that fast, but it goes off-road well, with many modes to choose from and a solid suspension.
Peugeot Landtrek

Like the Triton, Peugeot didn’t feel the need to load excessive power into the Landtrek. They settled with torque diesel engines topping out at 210 horsepower. The inside is nice, though not over the top, with a 10-inch touchscreen and many safety features.
The Landtrek’s best feature is probably its ground clearance. Lifted models can drive through 2 feet of water.
Great Wall Wingle 7

As you probably guessed from the name, this truck is made in China. While the Wingle 7 isn’t too over the top, one of its coolest features is standard leather seats (if you want them) and a decent 4-wheel drive system. It’s somewhere between a full-size and mid-size truck, making it perfect for people not sold on either.
BMW M3 Touring

Some Americans dream of powerful wagons. The M3 Touring provides just that. You get a vehicle big enough for a car seat and a fast 503 horsepower engine. Do you need it? No. Would it be really cool? Absolutely.
Cupra Formentor VZ5

You don’t see many vehicles powered by Audi engines outside of Audi. Cupra will be coming to the States, but they plan to leave this vehicle behind. The Formentor is a small crossover SUV with serious power, capable of hitting 385 horsepower.
Don’t Hold Your Breath For These Vehicles

The above are some vehicles we can only dream of seeing at American dealerships. While we would love to get our hands on a BMW M3 Touring, it’s not happening anytime soon.
