12 Cars To Look Out For in 2025

President Biden’s administration is pushing for an electric-vehicle future, aiming for 50 percent of all new vehicle sales to be all-electric by 2030. Thus, automakers are adjusting accordingly. 

In 2024, car manufacturers have introduced EVs like the Kia EV3, Porsche Macan EV, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai Ioniq 7, and Polestar 4, with more to come in 2025. Several hybrid and plug-in vehicles are also on schedule to debut in 2025. Here are some of the best cars to look out for in 2025.

2025 Dodge Charger EV

The 2025 Dodge Charger EV replaces the outgoing, gasoline-powered Dodge Charger pony car. The Dodge Charger EV has a restyled front end with an LED light strip running from headlight to headlight. This car has various electric powertrains, the most potent being that of the Charger Daytona, which has a 670-hp electric powertrain. The expected driving range for the Charger Daytona is 260 miles; the R/T model will be approximately 317 miles.   

2025 Chevy Corvette SUV

For the first time, General Motors is following in the footsteps of sports car manufacturers like Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and Ferrari by creating a crossover version of its trendy Corvette sports car. The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette SUV is expected to be performance-focused, offering straight-line solid performance and excellent handling. It will use the same platform that underpins the Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing sports cars, featuring a gasoline engine with an estimated output of between 450 hp and 550 hp.

2025 BMW M5 Touring

The recently unveiled, all-new BMW M5 (G90) is being sold in the United States in 2025 as a touring wagon. The US-bound 2025 BMW M5 Touring wagon benefits from the combined efforts of a twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a potent electric motor, resulting in approximately 717 horsepower. The 2025 BMW M5 Touring wagon is estimated to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds or less.

2025 Lucid Gravity

The 2025 Lucid Gravity is Lucid’s first attempt at making an electric SUV. Having succeeded with the Lucid Air series of high-performance luxury sedans, Lucid is expected to give Rivian and Tesla a run for their money. The Gravity is a 3-row, all-electric luxury SUV estimated to offer a 440-mile driving range when fully charged. Lucid indicates that the Gravity will have over 800 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

2025 Genesis GV90

Genesis has enjoyed considerable success with its G90 full-size flagship sedan. Now, the brand intends to offer the GV90 full-size, three-row, electric SUV, taking over the role of the brand’s flagship vehicle. The vehicle will have standard all-wheel drive, employing a dual-motor setup (an electric motor on each axle). The expected driving range will vary from trim to trim, but at least one trim will likely deliver at least 300 miles.

2025 Porsche 718 EV

As the curtains close for the gasoline-powered Porsche 718 Boxster and Cayman, Porsche is gearing up with an all-electric version that promises superior performance. The 2025 Porsche 718 EV is expected to have rear-wheel drive variants to keep in step with what the 718 sports car is about; it will also be available in hardtop and convertible options. This electric sports car is expected to borrow from the Taycan in terms of technology, including Taycan’s 800-volt architecture, which allows for a super-fast DC charge rate of up to 270 kWh. 

2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ

The Cadillac Escalade has never had electrified powertrains; a mighty V8 engine has always driven it. For the first time, Cadillac Escalade lovers will get to experience this SUV in all-electric form with the introduction of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ. Instead of the V8 engine, the Escalade IQ has a dual-motor electric drivetrain that develops 750 horsepower, making it the most potent Escalade yet. This SUV’s estimated driving range is 460 miles.        

2025 Chevy Corvette ZR-1

The long-awaited 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR-1 is set to go into production in 2025. The ZR-1 has always been the ‘bonkers’ trim, i.e., the one with out-of-this-world performance credentials, and the 2025 ZR-1 is expected to live up to its reputation. It boasts a potent, twin-turbocharged 5.5L flat-plane-crank V8 engine that makes 1,064 hp at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine redlines at 8,000 rpm, making a glorious sound. Its top speed is set at an unprecedented 233 mph.

2025 Lexus Electrified Sport

The Lexus Electrified Sport concept, which debuted at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, provides a picture of the Lexus all-electric supercar that the brand will release in 2025. This car will be a spiritual successor to the renowned Lexus LFA but will be much faster. According to Lexus, its zero-to-60 mph time will be in the low two-second range, with an estimated driving range of 430 miles.

The new 2025 Mazda CX-70 is a 2-row, midsize crossover SUV that is a successor to the Mazda CX-7 SUV, sold from 2006 to 2012. This bold-styled and well-equipped SUV is fundamentally similar to the 3-row Mazda CX-90; the only difference is that the CX-70 has two rows. A turbocharged 3.3L inline-six engine powers the non-hybrid models, while hybrid models include an electric motor.

The Mercedes-Benz G wagon is renowned worldwide for its durability, luxury, and outstanding off-road capability. Potent gasoline engines have powered it until now. The Mercedes-Benz EQG is the G wagon in all-electric form. It has four independently controlled electric motors (one at each wheel). Their combined output comes to 579 hp and 859 lb-ft of torque, enough for this SUV to hit 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds. The EQG also has a sizeable 116-kWh battery, which delivers 240 miles of range per charge.

Research Pricing Trends Before You Purchase a 2025 Car
